Abstract

This article explores the benefits of incorporating popular music into university liberal arts education, emphasizing the role of popular music in student development and its ability to stimulate student interest. Through rich illustrations, it outlines strategies for effective teaching, such as connecting music to historical and cultural contexts, promoting interaction, and fostering critical thinking. The article also emphasizes the need for inclusive teaching methods to cater to diverse student backgrounds. By incorporating popular music, education can enhance cultural literacy, critical thinking, and creativity, and cultivate students’ global awareness and social responsibility.
