Abstract

Individual moral conscience is the origin and prerequisite of one’s volunteerism while participating in voluntary service is an effective way to improve one’s moral cultivation. By studying the status quos of college students’ volunteerism, the author analyzes the correlation between volunteerism and moral identity. The author concludes that by helping college students internalize their volunteerism, they moral identity would be improved to a higher state, which in turns improves their individual morality.
