Abstract

This article, empowered by ChatGPT and through retrieving relevant historical literature, explores how the translator Sun Yat-sen flexibly employed strategies like domestication and foreignization, as well as methods like omission, addition, and modification in his translation of Ambulance Lectures: First Aid to the Injured. Additionally, the research highlights the use of ChatGPT as a tool to assist in the study. While ChatGPT is able to provide comprehensive knowledge quickly and proper translations, improvements are still needed in terms of image accuracy and citation generation. By providing specific context, probing for factual evidence, clarifying the reference objects, and narrowing the scope, prompts can be gradually refined for increasingly satisfactory outcomes.
