Abstract

The Siwa Oasis in the western desert of Egypt has attracted the attention of academic circles at home and abroad because of its long history, mysterious culture, and unique natural landscape. The research covers many fields such as history, anthropology, linguistics, environment and ecology, and economic development. The foreign research is thorough and comprehensive, and has many achievements on the historical status of Siwa, modern cultural conflict and change, language and society, ecological system and its sustainable development, while the domestic research is still superficial, mainly on the introduction of the humanistic style and historical overview. Through a comprehensive analysis of these research results, this study can have a more comprehensive understanding of the multiple values of Siwa and the problems faced by traditional culture represented by Siwa in the era of globalization.
