Ancient Silk Road heritage sites carry profound national cultural history, and their protection and development are crucial for cultural inheritance and the sustainable development of the local economy and society. This paper takes the Mogao Grottoes in Dunhuang as a case study to explore, in depth, the realistic characteristics and sustainable development paths between heritage protection and the high-quality integration of cultural tourism development under the guidance of the “Priority of Aesthetic Value” theory in the context of the digital economy.
