This paper explores how vocational education reform and service to the national strategy can provide strong talent support for the construction of the Chengdu-Chongqing Economic Circle, using a polytechnic college in Chongqing as an example. By analyzing the strategic background and development needs of the Chengdu-Chongqing Economic Circle, specific measures are proposed in areas such as policy support, school-enterprise cooperation, curriculum system reform, and digital transformation. The discussion is supported by a detailed case study of a vocational and technical college in Chongqing. The paper concludes with a summary and an outlook on the future direction of higher vocational education in western China.
