Based on the Community of Inquiry (CoI) framework, this study explores the paths and strategies of AI-enabled cultivation of College English online learning ability. By analyzing the specific applications of AI in optimizing instructional design, providing intelligent learning support and promoting the transformation of teachers’ roles, this study proposes a new learning ecology of “teacher-student-machine” collaboration. On this basis, it expounds the concrete implementation strategies of AI-enabled cultivation of College English online learning ability, so as to provide theoretical reference and practical guidance for College English teaching innovation under the background of smart education.
