This paper reviews the concepts of emotional labor, organizational commitment, and work engagement among nurses. By integrating motivation theory, social exchange theory, and the job demands-resources model, it elaborates on the current research status and theoretical support for the interrelationships between these concepts in pairs. Through these theoretical frameworks, the paper explores potential causal relationships between emotional labor, organizational commitment, and work engagement, proposing that organizational commitment may mediate the relationship between emotional labor and work engagement. This study provides insights into the complex dynamics of emotional management, organizational identification, and work engagement in nursing, laying a foundation for further research in this domain.
