Objective: To explore the curriculum ideological and political design and practice of nurses’ humanistic accomplishment under the background of population aging. Methods: Two grades of nursing students (geriatric nursing direction) from a vocational college in Hunan were selected as subjects. A total of 190 students of Grade 2024 were set as the experimental group, and 199 students of Grade 2023 as the control group. Taking therapeutic nurse-patient communication in the course Nurses’ Humanistic Accomplishment as an example, the control group received conventional online-offline blended teaching. The experimental group was deeply integrated with ideological and political elements, and the “Four Thinking” education path–Guide Thinking, Integrate Thinking, Reflect Thinking, Practice Thinking was implemented, assisted by intelligent technology. Both groups adopted the BOPPPS teaching model. After the course, comprehensive course scores and the scores of the Communication Ability Scale for Nursing Students with the Elderly were compared between the two groups. Results: Compared with the control group, the comprehensive course scores and the communication ability scores with the elderly in the experimental group were significantly higher (p < 0.05). Conclusion: The implementation of curriculum ideology and politics in the course of Nurses’ Humanistic Accomplishment can effectively improve academic performance and teaching effect of nursing students, and highlight value guidance.
