Suicide is a major and urgent issue in the field of mental health, and the United Nations has set “reducing global suicide mortality by one third by 2030” as one of its sustainable development goals. Suicide literacy refers to an individual’s ability to recognize, manage, and prevent suicide-related problems. This article offers a comprehensive review of the concepts, assessment tools, factors, and interventions of suicide literacy, with the goal of helping individuals to better understand suicidal behaviors and providing a scientific basis for developing effective suicide prevention strategies and measures to advance the progress of suicide prevention.
